Default Harry Potter collection

My wife loves Harry Potter. We already have the DVD's... but she thought it would be funny to buy fullscreen.

Anyway... I think the wife deserves a present. She put up with me buying all this home theater stuff, and now I feel she deserves something she would want to watch. The collection is pretty pricey... but do any of you have it? Is it worth the money?

Or would we be better off buying one at a time?

The only bad thing about the collection is the box that it comes in. I ended up getting replacement cases so that i could put them on the shelf with the rest of my collection.

I personally would purchase them individually because they come in paper sleeves in the collectors case. Not that sleeves ruin movies by any means but, it is my preference. Also, the storage of the case makes things a bit awkward at least in my shelving that I store DVDs, so I'd have to store them elsewhere.

I own all 5 of them, and I would HIGHLY recommend buying them Individually. My main reason for not buying the box was because the box isn't future-proof, in the sense when then last 3 come out on Blu-ray, 3 meaing Half-Blood Prince and Parts 1 & 2 of Deathly Hallows, it'll look awkard having 5 in a box and 3 outside the box.

Also in the sense of quality, i owned the first 4 on DVD before, and I sold those before getting the 5 on blu-ray, and trust me, they look ridiciously better!

Paper sleeves is not quite accurate. They're like hardcover books with a tray inside

If you take out the bookmarks and the stupid DVD game it comes with, the other moves will fit in the box. I've tested it myself

I bought the box set cause it was 25% off at WHV.com. Ended up selling the DVD game and bookmark set it comes with on Ebay and making about $40 bucks.

Hated the fact you can't display the box so I put them in empty BD cases and found the case sleeves imagines online. Had a Kinkos kinda place print them on glossy cardstock and you can't tell that they aren't the original cases.

So basically I got all 5 movies for less than $50.

I was concerned about it not looking good on my shelf, actually. Buying the subsequent releases is inevitable... they might as well look like they are part of the saga.

Individuals it is! Thanks for your replies.

I mean... if this thing came with like, a wand - or a small figurine or something... I might have dealt with the box... but after buying a special edition of Total Recall on DVD... (remember the Red Planet tin?) I was pretty avid about not buying crazy packages.

We got the box. My daughter loves the bookmarks. They are fairly substantial. I would by the box set again rather than individually. Also, the blus don't seem to have the preview of Half Blood Prince that the Dvds have.
