Yes, perhaps we can get a nice price after the giant TV's have sat around for a while generating no revenue at all !

I've only just started reading the article, but I think the first problem is people still paying over $3000 for a big-screen TV! There's countless websites that offer fantastic deals on Flat-screens in the 42"-60" range for well under that price. Maybe the problem is too many consumers are lazy!

The good news is that prices will probably come down to encourage sales, so those of us not in trouble financially can get some great deals. A co-worker and I were having this conversation just yesterday afternoon. There's too many people out there living beyond their means, and an unrealistic expectation of what's a "necessity". Cell phones, flat-screen TVs, cable, etc., have all become thought of as standard goods. Maybe we're all finally getting our wake-up call that keeping up with the Jones' is foolish...

yeah.... I didn't have Cable until I went to College, and then when I got out of college I went another 3 years or so without it...... My cell phone and my wife's cell phone, were free with my plan over 2 years ago.... they don't do anything "special" except make, and receive phone calls....

Then you hear people complaining about wages, gas prices, food etc etc.. and you find out they have the new Trio-Raspberry-Flip-Kick phone, the HD-Tivo-2,000 hour-DVR with the Premium-Platinum-Lifestyle-HBO+ Package, and they smoke 2 packs a day, at $4.50 or so a pack...

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with having those things..... but don't judge me for what I spend my money on, or complain to me about what the prices of other things you "need" cost....

Not talked about in the article, but maybe the TV's have been in the pool. Something to think about.

In full agreement ! I get a bunch of flack for my passion and hobby ! I get the big shrug off when I mention the cost of the new Marantz AV8003 and the MM8003 ! Yet these are the same people going on endless vacations ! To each is own. Just leave your judgement at the damn door !
