Default What's better a PS3 MGS4 60gb or 80gb bundle??? < AD ERROR. was 40 and 80

I need you help. Just found two system on hold for me today until 5pm. OK, so I found two PS3 MGS4 bundle packs. One of them is the 60gb for $449 and the other is the 80gb for $499. Beside the $50 and 20gb, what the differences and what the best one to get?

Someone told me that the the new 80gb runs everything better (except for old PS2 games), but that the 60gb is better for playing old PS2 games. Is it still possible to upgrade the hard drive on both of these system? Does the new 80gb & the 60gb both have usb's ...etc or does the 80gb have more features.

I am buying it for my sons, but also for the blue ray player. Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: Fry's Electronic Ad Error - it shows a PS3 60GB w\ MGS4 for $449, it should have been 40GB not 60GB!!!

Maybe someone selling an old 60gb and putting a copy of MGS4 in it?
Think I would Just go with the 80. My friend got one and loves it. It runs great and barely makes a sound.

I have the older 60GB and while I love it I notice with each upgrade the fan gets a little louder. My Dads 40GB on the other hand is quiet as a mouse.

i would double check...
they stopped making NEW 60GB models many months ago...

i bought my 80GB in Dec 07 and that was many months AFTER they stopped making a 60GB model...

* On July 9, 2007, Sony announced the 80 GB PlayStation 3 model for North America, bundled with MotorStorm,[3] to be available beginning August 6, 2007.[4][5][6] In addition, Sony announced a price drop in which the 60 GB model would sell for US$499.[3] Around this time SCEE President David Reeves and Sony Computer Entertainment, Incorporated President Kaz Hirai clarified that the North American "price drop" was in fact a clearance sale intended to eliminate stock of the 60 GB unit, the production of which had actually been halted at the time of the price drop announcement. After all 60 GB units were sold, only the 80 GB unit would remain in stores in North America.[7]

* On August 30, 2007, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) senior director of corporate communications Dave Karraker stated that it had sold and shipped all of its remaining North American 60 GB models to retailers, and that the company no longer has any inventory in its warehouses.[8] According to spokeswoman Kimberly Otzman, retailer supplies for the North American 60 GB model would probably last through October 2007.[9]

Default Fry's Electron Ad Error

In todays San Diego newspaper the Fry's Electronics Ad read "60GB" MGS4 Bundle for $449. I called in the morning and asked them if it really was 60gb and they say yes. Call again a few minutes ago and had it confirmed that it was an ERROR in today's AD. It should have been "40GB". I guess I get the 80gb.

The 60gig was Discontinued and hasn't been manufactured for about a year now. It was last summer that Sony announced this. While you may be able to still find them brand new, the chances are very very slim. Most likely it would be a refurb or returned system.

The main difference in systems is backwards compatibility with PS2 games. The 60gb would have the PS2 hardware built into the system and is compatible with more PS2 games while the 80gb does BC by software emulation. It is not able to play the same amount of games. You can check Sony's BC list HERE by selection system type and typing in the game.
