Just wanted to tell a little bit of how I mounted my 58'' Panasonic on my wall with metal studs so if someone comes across this problem they may have a bit more insight.
I was very worried that just screwing the bracket on wouldn't hold. I wasn't sure that the threads of the bolts provided could support over 150 pounds pulling down, not even to mention that the mount pulls out providing even more resistance when fully extended. I did some research and found out that I could drill a hole in the metal stud. (Remember metal studs are hollow) I then bought a ten pack of Hilti Toggler Toggle Bolts. ![]() These things are genius. First you have to drill a hole big enough to fit the Toggler, I did this by starting with a small drill bit and changing it up until I got to the biggest size that would allow the Toggler to fit inside. Then you put the Toggler in, wiggle it around until you can see that it's flush and the hole is lined up, then pull the zip tie mechanism that will hold the bracket in place until you're ready to screw, twist off the excess zip tie and screw away. I had some doubts to be quite honest, but if you have metal studs, use the hollowness to your advantage and get the Toggler bolts. It's well worth the piece of mind knowing that your TV and Mount are basically a part of your whole wall structure. |
