Default Blu-ray Forum Meetup thread

I figured I'd just put up this thread and see if it sticks. Mods, let me know if it's in the wrong place.

I've done meetups for other boards before, and I was wondering if anyone is interested in a thread where we could organize meetups in our areas. You know, beer-and-chips kinda things where we could put some faces to the nicknames, maybe yak about Blu-ray and (hopefully) other stuff.

To kick things off, I'm local to DC, so if you're from the area or might be visiting, let me know!

Instead of doing a generic "I am here!" kinda thing, let's be focused and organized. It doesn't have to be ONE city.

Firstly, those who have a big space (or have the money to rent one) as their theater can volunteer to have this meet-and-greet. No Tupperware/Avon parties please. It doesn't have to be someone's Mecha-Home Theater either. You can rent a whole theater in a cineplex if your group is THAT big and can afford it.

Secondly, set a firm date weeks in advance. For example, March 13th. Daniel Craig marathon - Casino Royale and Layer Cake screenings.

Good idea, Write.

Can I also suggest that we start making plans for an official funeral/wake for an HD-DVD get together? Perhaps I'm being too premature, but like Christmas, it'll be here before you know it.

Another vote for Metro DC Area. I met Jesse at Sony Style Store last May. Also met the famous HD zealot Plazman.

That was my intent. Perhaps the initial post could be a list of dates and places?
