Blockbuster Online vs. Netflix

I prefer BB Online. I think their Blu-ray offerings are quite decent, and their prices are reasonable. But, the main reason is the ability to drop off or exchange in store, thus expediting the speed at which you get the next movie.

Post reasons below. I am interested to see, as some have said one or the other is the better option (a lot of BB haters from what I can see).

I decided to keep Netflix and drop Blockbuster.

I got the unlimited one-at-a-time option from both and comparing the titles in my queue, nearly 1/2 of the Blockbuster titles listed as "short wait", "long wait" whereas my Netflix queue list all but one brand new release as available.

Netflix. I've always had a qualm with BB prior to the no late fee decision, and I will never go back.

Same here. Cancelled for the same reason as well.

Of course I rather buy than rent, but my money tree recently died in my back yard. So I went with Netflix as they have been pretty good to me recently.

I have only used Netflix and have had no issues what so ever. I will be watching 10,000 BC tonight.

I tried both and went with Netflix due to new release availability.
I don't have a BB store close by so in store returns was a non-issue.

Ive had both at different times when BB was unlimited exchange at store it was a better deal you could exchange any time as many times as you wanted when they changed it to a limited time per month on the exchange I went with Netfilx as they have always had a better BD selection. over all Netflix ftw.

I dropped BB when they raised prices in December 2006. I actually thougth about switching back because of all the emails I have been getting from them. But once I saw that you don't get any free store exchagnes, that really killed that idea.

I use BB....I like the 'in store' feature and I have never had any problems getting new release movies....guess it matters where u live....have a big BB near my house

I dropped BB due to lack of movies. I couldn't get anything that I wanted to see. Netflix has not disappointed me and the streaming movies are fun. I have my computer wired into my TV so watching a stream is easy.

I've never used Netflix and rarely went to the Blockbuster store. Once they had their mail in system I decided to try it and have used it ever since. yes they've raised their prices in the last few years but the proximity to the store and the exchange on site sealed the deal. Between the online queue and the availability in-store I'm able to get any movie I want.

The corporate stores still have a one week grace period (no late fee).

Given that, I am not sure what you mean by the "no late fee decision".

I love BB Online. I just checked the prices, and they are cent-for-cent either matching or LOWER than Netflix (lower in the most expensive plans). I thought they were more expensive, but guess I was wrong.

I have also never had a new release be anything less than 'available' even in Blu. The only titles that have been short or long wait are older, catalog titles (Trainspotting, for example) that they probably have fewer copies of to go around. But, while you wait for those, they ship the next movies in your queue. Even the short wait titles ship within a couple days. So, as for discs being a long wait, I only see that as being a major problem if you don't update your list and have only one or two movies in there at a time.

My only issue with it is that my local stores don't seem to have high demand for Blu-ray yet. They both have signs up ALL over the windows, saying 'Blu-Ray is here!' and such, but in the stores, there's just one rack of blu in one store and two racks in another. Thus, their supply of the blu-rays are usually slim. I can typically find a movie I want to see, but out of 10 or so I'd get, they usually only have 3 or 4 on the rack. One employee said his manager said they are going to start expanding their selection now that all the studios are on board, but that's to be seen I guess.

I had try both, i think netflixs is better, eventhought blocksbuter has advanatge of rent in the store, but is too many hazard like many movie i wanted (blu-ray) usually not there, and the return day for most blu-ray is like 3 days otherwhise they fine you. And my area half of blockbuster is close.

Netflix has instant view, which is pretty good, since they keep adding their collection, more and more newer movie and tv series is there, and quality is pretty good if you had high speed.

As for which one delivery faster and more newer movie will be valid, i said netflixs, they really does excellent job try to delivery your top query or new movie as they can, and they delivery speed always on time unlike blockbuter, when both movie shipped same day, one came a day later.
