Default First/earliest tv series on dvd

I did a search for this but didn't find anything. Hopefully you guys can help me out.

A friend and I were discussing tv on dvd. Does anyone remember the first or earliest tv series to be released on dvd? I really cannot recall which it might have been. Any help would be appreciated!

I think it was X files...I remember buying it and costing like one million dollars (ok it was about 179.99 but it seemed like a million)

It all started September 05 2000 when The X-Files Season 1 was released on DVD by 20th Century Fox. It contained all 24 season 1 episodes.

There were "best of" collections for various shows dating all the way back to 97 with a Beavis and Butthead release.http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/releasesmonth.cfm
