im just wondering if anyone here knows how music licensing works in these music rhythm games.
now i know the oasis songs that are in rock band are not going to end up on guitar hero and dlc from gh ain't gonna end up on rb. but does that rule apply to singstar? now i dont see singstar as competition for these type of games but im guessing the rules may still apply, i hope im wrong |

![]() The specifics of each agreement are particular to each artist, sometimes even particular to specific songs. Rock Band and Guitar Hero III share several tracks on their main games, and several more downloadables. Off the top of my head, Cherub Rock, When You Were Young, Sabotage, 3's and 7s, Kool Thing, Paranoid, Reptilia, Hier Kommt Alex, Jukebox Hero, Peace of Mind appear in both games either as main disc songs or as downloadable content. SingStar shares a few tracks with Rock Band. Buddy Holly, Epic, All the Small Things are on the main US release disc and shared with Rock Band. SingStar also shares some DLC: Ever Fallen In Love, Heroes, Girls Who Play Guitars. I may have missed a few songs in there someplace too, and there's quite a large number of artists who appear in both games but don't actually share the same songs (Metallica, for instance). |
