is there a way to get mp3s etc to expand to surround on PS3?
My receiver expands stereo sources (like TV or some DVDs) to 5.0 surround just fine and each of my speakers is just fine. Everything's fine.
However, when I play MP3s (or AACs etc) they just get played in stereo for some reason. I have it hooked up via HDMI and none of the enhanced surround options on my receiver Dolby Pro Logic II etc. does anything. It seems like the PS3 when outputing MP3s is outputing them in 7.1 LPCM with 2 channels containing music and the rest just silent. Anyway, is this normal? Anyway around it? Is there a firmware update coming to allow us to enjoy expanding MP3s to surround audio? Please help. ty |
