Which Metal Gear has the best story line, gameplay, etc.. overall.

It's a little hard for me not to consider the Solid Series as a complete game itself, however I may have to go with 1 and 4 like the last guy said. I love the epic music in all of them by the way. You may want to move this thread to the 'ps3 games' topic before anyone complains.

MGS2 was my fave now its MGS4, I think they should make the movie about MG2:SS, love to see Snake fight Gray Fox on the minefield

I've played all four in the Solid series and it's hard to argue against MGS4 being the best story-wise given how it brings together and wraps up all the plot elements that were started in the previous three games.

4 seems to bring everything all together, and its amazing how much time and effort they put in because they knew that the devout fans would remember 'those days'...

but i still end up dreaming about playing mgs3 again. i cant find my disc.

Metal Gear Solid was revolutionary at the time it was released. It changed a lot of games for a while. I don't think another game in the series has had the same effect on the industry. It's still the best story by a landslide, but for gameplay mechanics obviously MGS4 is untouchable for the series.

My fav so far is MGS 1. I beat the game more than any other game I have ever owned. I bought 4, but I haven't had the time to getting around to playing it. It's still in the wrapper.

My favorite is now MGS4! It has the total package...Story, gameplay, graphics, music(ipod), gadegts, etc. But my favorite one section of ANY metal gear game is still the tanker level of MGS2

I must have played that level 100 times alone

I like MSG4 better, gameplay is not the strogn point, but boy; i sure this one has aleast 2x more cut scene than any other game i play included final fantasy. But i won't be suprise Final Fantasty 13 might top this.

I voted for the PS1 Metal Gear Solid, But more specifically, I'd vote for the Tanker Half of Metal Gear Solid 2, the way it improved over the first was amazing... that and It was the first game i played for the PS2... the Old Demo Disc
