Default Question about DLC on PS3 (movies)

I guess this can be answered by assuming that XBL and PSN will have about the same quality...

Is it the same as DVD (420p) and if so, can the PS3 upscale like it does with DVD?

Of course, I ask because I assume with the bandwidth issue, it would either be lower than 420 or 420...

I am very excite about this!

Great ? I guess we are going to have to wait untill we get some more info but I would guess 420 and hope for 720 or 1080 but that would take too much time

The quality will be, from what I've seen in the pictures posted, Standard Definition (480i) and High Definition (720p).

The bitrates might be lower than what you see on a DVD for SD. The picture of the HD movie was showing 6.9gigs, which is more compressed than the Blu-ray version is, even taking into account resolution differences.

With regards to scaling, I don't know.

Stay on-topic please, this isn't the thread for complaining about digital movie downloads.

yeah I think it's going to be like the xbox video marketplace and have 480 for standard def and 720p for high def...it would be amazing, but right now unrealistic to have 1080 downloads!

Bah. Every thread is appropriate to complain about non-BD peripherals. Nah, just kidding.

I thought I had heard Sony boasting about full HD downloads through PSN (though it could have been only 720p). Was I mistaken, or were they not forthright?
