Default Testing Testing 5.1 Speaker Setup + Onkyo + Samsung

Since it seems a good portion of the chatter in the Bluray movie forum is about release dates and pre-orders, etc. I thought I would try inserting this here in hopes of getting input from the usual suspects

Finally trying out a few movies on my completed system which consists of a 5.1 speaker setup + Onkyo 705 + Samsung BD-P1400. I have opted for bitstream mode while running HDMI 1.3a.

So first movie I tested the system with was SWORDFISH, which I believe was just plain old Dolby Digital and could not believe the experience. My sub and surrounds were really participating and some of the scenes with the helicopter at the end picking up the bus off the street were just simply ridiculous. Everything seemed extremely well balanced throughout the fronts and center as well, not to mention it really felt like something was flying overhead from left to right like in the part where Gabriel is flying over the catch and release stream going to find the congressman.

Tonight I am literally in the middle of watching Rambo II which is DTS HD MA and its not even in the same league as SWORDISH I am a little bummed. Maybe I dont have it cranked up loud enough. For one my surrounds are barely an echo compared to SWORDFISH while the majority of everything is taking place through the center. Unless there is a real explosion I am not hearing much from the fronts either. Maybe things will pick up when the real fighting starts.

It will be really interesting to contrast the audio experience between this Rambo being 20+ years old vs. Rambo (2008)

I am very impressed with the PQ in Rambo II but was just hoping for a little more I guess from DTS HD MA, this being my first experience with this codec and all, but for a movie made so long ago, this must be it.

Does anyone have any particular favorite movies they like to run on their particular home theatre systems that really gives you that wow for DTS HD MA or anything for that matter????
