Default Well, just bought my first BluRay movies (from Amazon BTW),

Well, I'll hopefully be buying a PS3 this Friday, and the BluRay movies should also be here this Friday.

I ordered,

-League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen
-Stargate (I haven't seen this move in probably at least 10 years)
-8 Below (have never seen this movie)

So I'll let you know how they are if you haven't seen them.

I have never seen a BluRay movie, but the Hd-DVD movies I have seen are,

-Batman Begins
-Hulk
-Polar Express
-Serenity
-King Kong
-Superman

I think that's all, so these BluRays have quite a competition for PQ. However, I realize the BluRay movies I ordered aren't listed as BR show-off material, of course.

BTW, Amazon's 10% off code didn't go into effect again, so I emailed them. Last time it happened, I just emailed them and got it put back in my account.

Sure it's only a little more than $7, but hey, pennies make dollars, dollars make hundreds, etc.

yea i ordered my blu-ray player from amazon cause it was 200 $ cheaper there (samsung bd-p1000 for 599 instead of 799). i hadta send a money order and i sent it two weeks ago and so far my player still hasnt been shipped. i called very frustrated and they explained to me that it takes 2-3 weeks for a money order to fully work. so far i have 12 blu-ray titles that i bought at cc and i plan on ordering 6 more hd dvd titles so i can watch them while i wait for my br player and i plan on ordering black hawk down, the guardian and behind enemy lines now so i have some money left in my paycheck

mike, speed has been a disc that has been known to have a problem. while i don't own it, there are many reports in regards to the issue with the speed disc. it was a problem with a file placement on the disc if i recall correctly (or was that the covenant?). as for the "regurgitation" problem, that is the first i have heard but i have the sammy and no problems like that to date.

If you're going to compare King Kong, Hulk, and Batman Begins (their top PQ titles) PQ to Blu-ray titles, you should have Crank, Tears of the Sun, Covenant, The Wild, Into the Blue (Jessica Alba...*drool*), Open Season, etc. The LoEG and Eight Below are very nice though.

I can tell you that you won't be that impressed with Stargate (even though in the desert you can see the production lighting, clearly, in Kurt's shades). I wouldn't trade Stargate for anything, but that's because I'm a big fan of the movie and the series.

Enjoy the PS3 and the titles (especially the sound)!

Cool deal then.

Yeah, that's what I was saying. Hulk is the nicest HD-DVD I have ever seen, and highest video I have ever seen as well. It's, as far as I could tell, the movie with the best PQ. Having said that, too bad the story was sorta. . .meh.

In regards to the 10% off, I just bought X-men 3, goodfellas, and gone in 60 seconds on BD on amazon.com. So I can email them and get the 10% off?

I think you had to start it before 2007.

I ordered a bunch of HD-DVDs in December or November of last year when you could still get in on the 10% off for one year after the initial ordering 3 HD-DVDs or Blu-Ray movies.

However, some have said they have extended it, but I'm not sure if they have. I'm sure you can just email Amazon and ask them.
