Default "Crash" the TV Series

From ComingSoon.net (Original Source: Starz Entertainment, LLC)

Quote:
- ""Crash," the first original drama series from Starz Entertainment, co-produced with Lionsgate, will premiere Friday, October 17 at 10:00 p.m. (et/pt) on Starz.

Inspired by the Academy Award®-winning Best Motion Picture of 2006, "Crash" is a provocative new 13-episode drama starring an ensemble cast led by film icon Dennis Hopper. Set in Los Angeles, the series explores the complexities of social and racial tolerance and the meaning of the American dream through characters whose lives intersect and collide as they strive to achieve that dream.

The drama features a disparate group of Los Angelenos, including maverick record producer Ben Cendars (Dennis Hopper); impulsive cop Kenny Battaglia (Ross McCall); his actress-turned-police officer partner Bebe Arcel (Arlene Tur); frustrated Brentwood mom Christine Emory (Clare Carey); her pre-bust real-estate developer husband Peter Emory (D.B. Sweeney); former gang member-turned-EMT Eddie Choi (Brian Tee); Ben's street-smart driver Anthony Adams (Jocko Sims); illegal Guatemalan immigrant Cesar Uman (Luis Chavez); and cocky, hot-tempered detective Axel Finet (Nick E. Tarabay).

The production team is headed by writer/executive producer Glen Mazzara ("The Shield"), and includes executive producers Bob Yari, Bobby Moresco and Paul Haggis and co-executive producers Don Cheadle, Tom Nunan and Mark R. Harris, who were members of the Oscar-winning theatrical production team, and co-executive producers Jorg Westerkamp and Thomas Becker. Joining Mazzara as series writers are co-executive producers Frank Renzulli ("The Sopranos") and Ted Mann ("Deadwood," "Miami Vice"); producer Stacy Rukeyser ("One Tree Hill," "Without a Trace"); executive story editors Chris Collins ("The Wire") and Randy Huggins ("The Shield"); and staff writer Sang Kyu Kim. John B. Moranville ("Drive") is producer, Elizabeth Kling is associate producer, and Brad Caleb Kane is consulting producer.

Starz Media's Anchor Bay Entertainment will hold exclusive U.S. distribution rights, including home entertainment, to the "Crash" series, while Lionsgate will retain international distribution."

There was absolutely no news in the months leading up to his death and not a single mention of it anywhere. I've read a lot of Starz related news, and apparently they canceled it and just never bothered to even announce it. There is nothing anywhere I can find mentioning it since season 2 ended. But yeah I think it's safe to assume this show is long dead and gone. I've seen several of the cast members on other shows recently.

Man it was actually a decent show. The 2nd season was much better than the first season. I am gonna miss the gorgeous Moran Atias and hope to see her resurface. Got Em!!

Oh no, I wasn't knocking the show, I watched and enjoyed both seasons, I just pretty much knew that with Hopper's health declining throughout season 2 that it was going to be the last. Was surprised though that they never bothered to announce the cancellation. Considering the season 2 finale was mid-December 2009, they must have just taken the holidays off and forgotten about the show, lol.

EDIT: Holy shit, I just looked up it's ratings, no wonder they didn't announce the cancellation, they didn't even have enough viewers to bother with it!

When I first saw the ratings for the initial airing of the season two finale on December 18, I thought they must’ve been for a repeat. I thought that because it garnered only 94,000 viewers (.094 million) and a 0.0 adults 18-49 rating.

I watched and liked this show although I thought the 1st season was better than then the 2nd season. I am not surprised it got cancelled especially after Hopper's death. Will miss looking at Moran Atias for sure and that female cop from the first season wasn't bad either.

The only thing I've seen Moran Atias in since 'Crash' ended was a really small part in the Russell Crowe movie 'The Next Three Days' where she was mostly eye candy with very little to say or do.
