Onkyo 705 and HDMI 1.3

Has anyone heard of the HDMI ports on the 705 not being 1.3?

I just had to send my new 705 back for a replacement because I could not get TruHD or DTS-MA working.

I came to the conclusion that 1 of 3 things could be the issue - please comment if you like.

1. my generic HDMI cables are not 1.3 as advertised

2. HDMI ports on receiver are not 1.3 as advertised

3. On board HD audio processor was malfunctioning.

All settings on my Panasonic BD30 were correct and according to Crutchfield, all of the settings on my receiver were correct.

I am investing in a more expensive HDMI cable for testing when the new one comes.

Any other ideas?
