Default Fatal Inertia is surprisingly good.

I'm surprised to say that after blind buying this today I am pleasantly surprised on how balanced this game is. It takes a little while to get going but when it does you will be hitting light speeds very quickly.

Buy this if you like wipeout, Fzero or anything similar. Or if you like going burnout speeds.

What I like most of all is the learning curve. At first its hard to figure out how to get around corners, but using charge-blast will have you catapulting around corners at break neck speeds. Some levels are graphically great, especially the green tinted waters.

Ok this might not be as good looking as WOHD, but its no slouch either. I'm having a great deal of fun. Online works superb. Although there seems to be alot of connection errors. Once in gameplay though the online players move as smooth as computer players. Awesome stuff! Worth £14.

I'd be mightily suprised if SCEE hasn't kept WipEout HD under wrap for the GCC of Liepzig to show something awesome

I just downloaded the demo, and I thought it was good too. The ships controls are rather good and well I only did one race on the online but it was decent but not great. I don't like the way that when you finish a race, there has to be a loading delay between crossing the finish line n some races and the ending cinematic. I also don't like the way that you can complete laps in a matter of seconds. Also, like richieb said, I too have also been having some connection errors when trying to go online. Overall, I'd give the demo a 7 out of 10 for being entertaining but should've also had some improvements overall.

The demo is really fun! I'll buy this after my next paycheck.
One question though, is there split screen online?
