Default How many times have/will you see The Dark Knight this weekend?

I'm just wondering how much we at the forum are contributing to history.

I saw it Friday night at 11:15. I will wait and see it again during the week on IMAX.

How many time will you see The Dark Knight this weekend?

maybe I'll need to start to break some bones to people that create extra Batman threads

Wasn't sure about starting a new thread, but wanted to do a poll.

I'd rather read a new thread that have to try to slog through those 500-2000 post "OFFICIAL" or "POST HERE ONLY" threads. After a thread gets beyond a few hundred posts it gets horribly difficult to follow anything that is going on unless you're absolutely dedicated to checking it frequently; I don't even both to look at them at that point.

Well, I've seen it on film... now I NEED to see it in IMAX... I'm definitely going to try this weekend, but sell-outs may prove to hinder my plans. Either way, I'll be contributing to the weekly total gross instead of just the July 17th midnight screening total (for which I purchased my ticket 2 months ago).

I totally agree with this statement.

You are preaching to the choir.

Well when you have 5 threads at the same time about how much money Batman is gonna make or 4 threads about Batman in IMAX, etc etc which one are you going to read of the several?

Or if someone comes a year later looking for info on TDK, and they do a search and find themselves confronted with several threads with similar titles instead of one about X, what about that?

(They'll probably create a new one and say, "there were 3 dozen Batman threads in the search, so I just made a new one to ask my question" )

jasonbird, poll is fine. Now take that silly bag off your head and stop pretending you're the Scarecrow.

I'd probably read ALL of the shorter ones. If 1 or 2 of them are already at 200-300 or more posts, I might start reading them, but as I already stated, I 'm not going to waste time trying to follow threads that have already grown extremely long.

I think threads should be closed after about 6 months, maybe even less than that. I've seen several threads pop up on the "Recent Threads" list on the home page that were started months ago (even over a year ago) with now out of date information that suddenly have a new post. I mean, shouldn't any post that was previously asking when Transformers be released shut down at this point?

And I'm fine with that. Better than trying to keep track of which post you last read on multi-thousand long post threads. Maybe instead of trying to coral all Batman Begins threads into a few super-threads, it would just be easier to add a Batman Begins category in the Forums.

As for the original topic of the OP, I really only plan to see "The Dark Knight" once in theaters. Assuming it's good, I wouldn't be opposed to going to see it again since I'm seeing sort of for free the first time using the Movie Cash from the LE version of Batman Begins. But there's only one movie I've ever paid to see multiple times in a theater, Titanic, and I doubt Batman Begins will have the same kind of impact on me that movie did.

1.75 times. I bought my tickets for the midnight showing and the damn theater was having trouble witht the projector all night and it finally just turned off just as
[Show spoiler]Bruce was driving in front of the hospital in his Lambo
. Before that, the lights had come on, they had totally ruined the Watchmen trailer with no picture but sound. So I just walked out because I knew they couldn't rewind it. So I went yesterday at 6:30. I just read the estimate for the day was $66 million?!?!?! That's insane. I'm so glad it's Batman that's going to break the record despite my very, very slight dissappointment with the film.

^^^ Jason is one of the nicest guys here, so he gets a break Deci, you will have your hands full this weekend. TDK mania is spreading like a mean virus through the minds of the fanboys (myself included).

I saw it on Firday morning, thought it was good, but a little long, and the plot broke down toward the end a little for me. Still a good movie, just not ready to see it again so soon.

Tell me about it, I've been awake like 24 hours. Good thing I wear a shapeless mask.

Roland. I'll be paying you a visit in San Diego with a few of my Watchmen next week.

I'll probably go and watch it next week but only once though at the IMAX. IMO, I think its silly to watch the same movie twice at any theater unless you can provide a reasonable explanation.

I saw the pre screening at imax on Tuesday, then saw a 930am showing on film Friday. I can't make it to another screening until Monday due to my work schedule . Even after seeing it a second time I still wanted to go right back in and watch it all over again!!
