If anyone is intrested in supporting David's cause here is the link to his petition. Apparently Konami/Sony Pictures doesn't want him involved in the creative process(screen play)

You know, it would be funny if Kojima directed the movie. I'd love to see a live action film that would still use the big ! over someones head when they see Snake.

oops helps if i read the links first...

ok so hopefully no one saw my Post. I would have to assume the Sony has there own Screen Writers to help out but i agree it would nice if he had some imput due to his history with the story line of the game.

If Hideo Kojima, Konami or whatever studio has the rights to make the movie (I assume it's Sony Pictures?) don't want David Hayter involved then there is nothing we can do. There is no way to "force" them to allow David Hayter to be involved in any way. And to even get the attention of the movie studio you would have to get a million+ signatures before they go "Oh wow, that's a lot of people that may not buy a ticket to see this movie." But you all know you would still go see the movie regardless of who does it.

Screenwriter. He's made a pretty good career for himself out of writing the screenplays for some pretty decent action flicks (X-Men comes to mind, there are others).

I hope they make the movie CGI style. I think they even considered doing this if I'm not mistaken. That would be cool.

That way David would not only write but also do the voice over.

That would be cool, I can't think of anyone else that could voice Solid Snake.

Where's the petition encouraging Sony, Konami, and/or Hayter to preserve the sanctity of at least one great game series and not make a movie. I'll sign that one.

I'm not convinced Hayter can the pen the whole thing by himself. He hasn't actually written that many films, but then again he should definitely have some input.

He has written a lot of screenplays, they just don't always get used. From what i've read, his screen plays are quite good, but you know movie studios. I think he could do it himself, but they probably wouldn't let him anyway.
