What type of TV do you have?
Also, remember that if you are right up on the tv your are going to see the opening and closing of the pixels on the display to allow light in that makes your picture. Its the same from all tv's. Most notable is the white light your eyes are most sensitive to. If your picture looks like its supposed to from your seating area, I would think everything is OK. If its something else, call the manufacturer. |

I just did a test where i unpluged the HDMI from my receiver and pluged it straite to the TV, and to my surprise the white static lines were gone.
so why is the receiver causing this? there supposed to pass the picture trough untouched am i right? i have a onkyo 705.

I took a look at my TV and turned on 27 Dresses on Blu, and there were no lines, you may look into this, I took it off of Samsungs website FAQ's
The thin or faint red, green, white, or black line you see running through your LCD TV may be a line of dead pixels. With that said, what we do about an LCD TV with dead pixels depends on: The number of dead pixels The location of the dead pixels The color of the dead pixels The size of the LCD TV screen If you are having a serious problem with dead pixels, gather the information listed above and call Samsung Customer Care at 1-800-Samsung (1-800-726-7864) any day between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Have the model number and serial number of your TV on hand when you cal |

sorry, didn't see your new post. does your receiver have proper ventilation, my dad has a sony ES-5200 in a custom built home theatre center and when his receiver overheats, his picture goes funny and he has to open the doors where the receiver and his sony s1 is to cool it. then it works fine..

when you went direct from player to tv
you only tried one of the two cables you were using... Did you swap to check the 2nd ?? then just for grins.. put it all back and make sure the problem returns sometimes they just go away we call it "FM" |

hmm I'd say if you see statics from some angles only, it's a TV issue not the player or connections
