Default Machete Review Thread (Spoilers)

Machete, the ode to a blood-thirsty madman played by Johnny-23 from Con Air, now officially has a script and should be fully hashed out over the next few months. As of now, it’s planned for a direct-to-DVD release and will feature a trailer for a Planet Terror sequel entitled Cherry Darling. Sweet action. If all works out with this project, filmmakers are planning two additional sequels as well.

Check it out.

Default Robert Rodriguez's Machete: Where is it now?

What's the status of Machete? That great Grindhouse trailer, that was going to be made into a movie. With Danny Trejo... where is it now? Does someone know?

as I understood it, it wasn't so much being made into a movie as Rodriguez shot about 40 minutes of footage and was going to edit it into a picture. I could be wrong though.

sadly it's probably sitting wherever the theatrical experience of grindhouse is, alone with The Whole Bloody whatever, somewhere just over the horizon... out of sight.

I wish I had an answer for you as I have wanted to see it as a movie since opening day of Grindhouse. Unfortunately, IMDb says the same thing that it's been been saying for almost 2 years..." in production".

Default Great Trailer.

Only wish... I knew it's status. Or any new production information about it.

I'd watch any of those movies in theater. Machete definitely had the most potential.

Well it's hard to fairly compare an action movie like Machete to horror films...

Don't and Thanksgiving looked much better then any of the horror films being released right now.

Considering the general idea that Grindhouse was I think it's fair to compare them. I was hoping that Grindhouse would be insanely popular and directors would be chosen every year to do the next two films. Sadly is isn't so.

I was baffled that people turned down two new movies, from acclaimed directors that had broad appeal, for the price of one movie.

I know people have short attention spans but DAMN.

Very cool. Danny Trejo rocks. Would still love to see a movie based on his and Diamond Dallas Paige's characters in The Devil's Rejects.

edit: Wonder if they'll keep the scene where Jeff Fahey's wife and daughter tag team him?
