Default "fast forward" image appearance

Good people,
I've just set up a Samsung 1080p/120 Hz with a Sony S350 Blu-Ray and the first thing I notice playing a Blu-Ray DVD (aside from mind-blowing, almost 3-dimensional clarity) is that the display of movement seems slightly accelerated. Almost like fast-forwarding at 1.05 - 1.1x. This being at 1080p / 24 fps. Yet the audio sounds entirely normal. Is this a set-up issue (I'll be studying manuals this weekend), or is it characteristic of Blu-Ray... something connected to frame rate, refresh rate, etc.?
Thanks!

Default Samsung Auto Motion Plus

Looks like some of the freakiness may stem from Samsung's Auto Motion Plus image processing, which can presumably be disabled. We'll see.

I was gonna say try turning off any motion enhancers and see if that looks better.
