Default Blu noob question

My first BR player is still on order (and now delayed). I am waiting on the new Elite Pinoeer 1.1 player to be released.

So, since i have yet to add this to my system, I hav enot had the good fortune to watch a full movie on a BR disk.

So, here is my quesiton:

On several DVD titles ther eis a noticable pause when the layer is switched. Do any BR-50 disks have the same noticable pause? I am thinking of a long movie like Ganes of New York when a new disk is required in DVD format.

Thanks

Note: I did a few searches for "movie pause" and "layer pause" but came up blank. Sorry if this has already been addressed.

No pause as the Blu-ray layer switch is built into the format to be seamless. The only slight pause I've ever seen on a Blu-ray is for complicated branching cuts where there are multiple versions of a movie on one disc.

Thanks... at the moment I only have I am Legend and 2001 to see the day the unit goes in (hopefully within 2 weeks).

I may try to pick up some other Reference/Tier 0/ high Tier 1 PQ/AQ Blus before it is installed. Thinking Black Hawk Down and Fifth element as possibles. However, I am trying to limit my double dipping in lew of movies I never purchased on DVD.

I cannot wait!

you have two very good looking movies.

Try out CARS or Ratatouille. Excellent quality.

I also personally enjoy Apocalypto.

Thought about cars. But that is still rather up there in price. If I am going to spend that kind of money on a movie, I want to get something I do not already own (like the Iron Man Special Edition BR). I may nextflic Cars on BR just to see what a reference audio/PQ movie look slie

I can attest to Amazon or Tower.com. I can usually get the movies $10 cheaper than the retail stores with free shipping. Puts them on par with DVD's.

Yes, I have purchased many things online, Amazon, Newegg, many others.

I am just waiting for the moment to prioritixze my Blu purchases. Trying to minimize double dipping. Reading a lot to see the high PQ/AQ disks.

The two I listed were on my Amazon wish list as highest wanted and the wife picked them up for father's day.

I will probably Netflix more then I buy to start out.

Wife currently has an offer for free shipping from Amazon and asked if there were any Blu disks I wanted.... A love is a wonderful thing.
