How is the subwoofer that comes with this set?

Actually I don't have that set. I was thinking about getting it though. I have read on here though that the subwoofer is a little on the weak side but it seems like it's a very decent package and the subwoofer is adequate!

Ok thanks, for 200 it seems like a good deal. Its dropped a lot since last time I looked.

Cracking headz im thinking about getting that set with a onlyo 605 for the lossless on my ps3. Will these speakers be good enough for the new codecs?

For the price, these will do justice.

Cool I pm'd him, thanks for the help. What are the cheapest prices on these? I saw 200 for the speakers and 230 for the reciever.

they are great! i have the onkyo 605 and the polk rm6750 hooked up to my ps3 and the sound when watching Black Hawk Down is like i am sitting on a couch in the battlefield and you cant beat the price

I've got the 606 and this speaker set. I live in a condo so try to keep the volume as under control as I can let myself and the whoofer still rips. I've never had an AMAZING sound system but I am in love with this package.

I went from a crappy HTiB to the combo you're looking at. I love it. I will say though that this place and that purchase already has me looking at upgrading- I'm thinking of getting some Polk floorstanders and a new center channel down the road. Damn this place!

In all seriousness, while the subwoofer is subjective, I feel it's definitely more than adequate for the system. Bass is definitely not a problem with this setup. Just run the Audyssey and then tweak the following settings:

Crossover for the speakers is going to be 120hz. This is what's listed in the manual. You're sending most everything to the sub.
