Default My Local Target store

not sure where to put this....

Went to my local target yesterday, and they've moved up to a "dedicated Blu-Ray" section..... not just a couple of displays next to the "new releases" like they had before.

Good sign I guess, now they just need to have another good sale (it's been awhile, but I got Commando and Ratatouilli at the last sale, so whenever that was!!)

I rarely go there but I did last week and I was surprised. It's a good sign, definitely.

the format war is over, All stores are gonna expand as the format grows, Its just good business sense.Even CC, as behind in the times as they are have stepped up to the plate months ago. If you have an older store with a lower high def sales volume they are naturally going to be slower to upgrade, but National chains like wal-mart and Target use a planogram type merchandising plan of action, meaning they want every store you visit to be like the other, for easy navigation. I know WM said this as with remodels and updates they are slowly changing

Yep, my target expanded as well...now if their prices would just go down a bit considering the only time it's financially viable to buy a movie there is when they're on sale (which does happen from time to time...)

VERY good to know, I'll have to go by tomorrow and grab Red October if they've got it. Thanks for the heads up.

I went into Target yesterday to pick up a gift card for a wedding, but I stopped by the movie section to check out the Blu's. To my surpise, there were none to be found where they normally were. I looked around for a second, and found an entire dedication section for Blu. While browsing, another guy did the exact same thing as me, walked to where they used to be, kept looking, then realized he walked right past the new blu section.

My local Best Buy did the same thing about a month behind them...

The BD section is about as big as the old "Drama" section now. Not only that, it is the last row facing out (so every shmuck who walks past will see it), not hidden in an inside isle anymore. I cant wait until the day when the BD section is larger than a single isle... I would like to make a turn and still see BDs

Either way, it seems the tide is turning... I think it would turn faster if they had more deals and sales (not just lower prices, because then people wont think it is any better. You know how people are.)

I still have a hard time finding them in WalMart. I do nto there often, but i run by every movie isle in any store i enter just to see if there are any sales I am interested in.

I seriously think my local walmart does not want to sell BR at all. They are not with any other movies. Any they are not competative at all. Amazon is WAY cheaper on almost every title.

ditto, just go to amazon. they carry everything in stock and their prices are pretty much always better than target, best buy, and walmart...with free shipping its a no brainer.

I agree, but the point is not to get us to buy them. It is to get the average consumer (the people who still shop B&M) to switch and buy them.

One major problem with Amazon (MAJOR) is that you have to know what you want to buy it. I doubt many people will buy BD players and BD's because Amazon is having a B2G1 if they are not already aware.
