Future AFI Top 100 Changes

What changes would you like to see to AFIs Top 100 lists?

Heres mine:

Best Movie:

- Re-add Close Encounters of the Third Kind
- Re-add Fantasia
- Re-add Dances With Wolves
- Add There Will Be Blood
- Add The Empire Strikes Back (this probably won't happen)
- Add Finding Nemo

Best Villian:

-Add Anton Chiguar from No Country for Old Men
- Add The Joker from The Dark Knight

Laughs (Comedies):

- Add Juno

Quotes:

Add "No, I am your father," from The Empire Strikes Back.

Stars:

Add Tom Hanks

Hmm... I largely agree (also don't see Empire making it -- not too sure about Nemo, either). There's no excuse for Fantasia getting dropped. Apparently Disney needs to get going on "Fantasia 2010: The IMAX 3D motion sickness edition" in order to remind people how groundbreaking the original was.

I love Close Encounters, but on the lastest list, it's damn near impossible to justify dropping any of their top 75 films from the list, so there's not a lot of wiggle room.

There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men are both deserving of being added, but its tough competition, and will depend largely on how well the films stand up after several years have gone by.

American Beauty not making the list last time is inexcuseable and should be remedied next time around. I think the definite add next time around would be The Departed -- how do you vote against adding one of Scorcese's masterpieces?

I'm betting Swing Time, The Sixth Sense, Toy Story, and Yankee Doodle Dandy fall off the list to make room for some more recent titles. Ben Hur (1959) came in at 100, also, but I think if they put out an amazing restored Blu-ray release by then, it will actually move up a fair bit on the list.

I'm not all that familiar with the list, but in terms of moviemaking, IMO, there hasn't been anything in the past few years deserving of knocking off Ben-Hur if it is at 100. I mean c'mon, we watch a lot of movies, but this is all those people do. I trust them.
