Chronos won't play on PS3. UPDATE: contact R & B Films for replacement

I get an error when trying to play Chronos, says:

I read about that same error on the AVS board a couple weeks ago (though I'm not sure how he got a disc that long ago). Isn't that the same error that was on Legends of Jazz Blu-ray?

Yep, same here . 1.51 firmware, HDMI for audio and video.

i'm guessing it's going to happen with all PS3's since at least 1 more person reported it now....we can probably expect an update soon though.

Damn, this kind of movie is the reason I bought a PS3. I don't know how they can release a blu-ray movie without testing it on a PS3 -- they account for 90% of the players out there.

I sure how this gets fixed with a software update...

I got this the other day too. I have left a message at the number (thanks for finding it paul) and I will be testing it in a variety of players.

Call SONY and tell them about the problem. The more people call the quicker there will be a fix.

I called Sony as I am in front of my PS3. They were useless. The guy wouldn't even let me give him the error code. I explained that several people online had the same problem.

He had me reset the box and when it still didn't work, told me to try it in another PS3. I told him I didn't have one, but other people with different physical disks were having the same problem -- but only in the PS3. He said it must be the disk then, so there is nothing he could do.

Hope someone else has more luck.

is this the only movie doing this?? i only have 2 movies right now viewing
through my PS3, but i was to begin an all out purchase campaign to
fill up my library with BD .. has anyone tried changing the video
configurations in the PS3? please tell me its just a bad batch of copies
that you guys can exchange.

This is the first disc out of like 30 movies I own that have had any issues playing back on my system. I have not tried Legends of Jazz. This sounds like some issue with some oddball authoring software if I had to hazard a guess.

Unfortunately, I'm experiencing the same problem. However, this disc plays perfectly on my Samsung Blu-Ray player. I guess my Samsung may still get some use after all.

I must say though, that out of 112 Blu-Ray discs that I own, this is the only one that hasn't played on my PS3. Of course, everyone wants it to be perfect, but 1 out of 112 isn't too bad considering it's such new technology. I'm sure it will be addressed.

This is disappointing, but not something unexpected for being an early adopter. I'm amazed that BD people have experienced so few troubles, considering the many targets.

DVE for HD DVD had to be delayed because it wouldn't play on an A2!
