I'm a Stephen King junkie..... read a LOT of his books. I'm not very "diverse" in my reading materials, I'll admit..... but that's about it....

read all the classics etc.. throughout my years of formal education.... good to have read it, but I don't go out of my way to read the classics now.

i'm not the best reader. i don't read as much as i should. i love the dark tower series of what i've read so far. i also love comic books and read those as often as i can. usually though i don't read. and this is sad, but the geek in me plans on reading the x-files: i want to believe book. it sucks, i know. but the geek in me will not rest. as for authors though i do love terry pratchet.

I don't get to read as much as I'd like, but I still keep my hand in when I can. I'm pretty eclectic in my choice of authors/subjects, but recent "reads" have included Robert Rankin, JK Rowling, Stephen Ambrose, Charles Dickens, Terry Pratchett, Iain Banks and Major Dick Winters.

Yes. Don't read as often as I'd like. I enjoy all the authors the OP mentioned but have been on a Neil Gaiman kick lately.

I've been on a Philip K Dick kick lately, so I've been going through his short stories recently. Going to start on one of his real books afterword and then probably pick up Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein and between those books some books on audio stuff (speaker/amp design). After all that maybe Harry Potter 2 to break things up a bit. And then maybe another PKD book or the more recent Brian Greene book (the one after elegant universe).

I plan out my reading much further in advance than pretty much anything else I do... probably because I have such a backlog and little actual time to do it :/

The last fiction I read was when I was finishing my English degree. Since, I've been on more of a non-fiction kick. But I pretty much consume anything WWII related or American history related. Stephen Ambrose, David McCullough. I'm also big into bios. Reading bios on Mark Twain and Che Guevara right now.

I read tech books and trade magazines (helps me keep up on my job). Other than that, not too much reading. For books, it's tech books. Otherwise I just read a bunch of articles.

I'd like to resume reading some of the newer Star Wars novels, but nothing has really caught my eye as of late.

I have 2-3,000 books of which ~1/3 are history, 1/3 are victorian/edwardian world travel narratives and 1/3 are fiction, with a big chunk of sci-fi.

Among other things, I collect 1st and early edition Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, etc. simply because that's what I read as a youth (along with Asimov/Bradbury/Van Vogt et al). Also have a couple of Lovecraft firsts (Arkham House) I received as gifts. All part of my mid-life crisis.

I love a good series. Some of my favs are King's Dark Tower series and Salvatore's Demon Wars series. The most different (in a great way) book I have read was House of Leaves by Danielewski, I highly recommend it. I'm now reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Pretty good so far, very easy read.

I absolutely love reading. Most of what I've read is fiction, though there are some good non-fiction books I've read.

If anybody wants any suggestions of titles by these authors, feel free to ask!

Also, if you want to talk about any of these, let me know.

Fiction authors:
Daniel Silva
Vince Flynn
Brian Haig
Robert Ludlum
Hugh Laurie (yep, Dr. House himself)
J.R.R. Tolkien
John LeCarre
Nelson DeMille
Matthew Reilly
Allan Folsom
Ken Follett
Allan Topol
Caleb Carr

As for non-fiction, I've found the following books to be great!
"1776" by David McCullough
"Battle Cry of Freedom" by James McPherson (the BEST Civil War book)
"Stalin: The Court of the Red Tsar" by Simon Montag Montefiore
