My local shop, because many brands only go through private dealers.

Local dealers (you can get deals ) Audiogon, Videogon (used market) and divorce sales.

Edit: Are we talking about equipment or are we talkin' BD's? For BD's -amazon. for equipment - my first statement. I would think equipment because this is the speaker part of the forum.

I almost always go with amazon. I've never had a bad experience and their customer service is first-rate. Recently I purchased a Belkin battery backup and once all my equipment was hooked up to it I found it couldn't handle everything and would shut down. I didn't have the original box but amazon let me return it, they paid for the shipping, and I got a full refund. I despise Best Buy and don't have any real audio or video stores in my area so I have to order stuff I want anyways. I've got around 60 blu-rays and they are all either free, amazon, or a couple from Warner's recent sale. Never bought a blu from a brick and mortar.

www.vanns.com - but of course, they are local for me, so I just walk into the store and talk with them... plus, they generally do free ground shipping if I do have to end up ordering from another one of their stores.

Let's not forget blu-ray.com's trading forum! I've had nothing but great service from all I've had the pleasure of doing business with. Great prices and very fast shipping (faster than amazon)

If you're wanting a new or old blu-ray, just do a forum search, and if you can't find it, you can always open a new thread requesting it, and include your preferred price range.

I generally try to listen at local shops, but have found great deals at Tweeter (Sound Advice in some parts of the country) and occasionally i'll check out the B&M big boxes. Local stores can be great, but some have sales guys that REALLY need to back off/or atleast listen to the customer.

It would have helped if he had mentioned it in his first post, besides for the area that the thread was in.

Anyways... I just bought a new center channel speaker from Vanns and had a very good experience. No tax, and free FAST shipping! It came in only four days!
