Will any of the Hitchcock titles be released anytime soon?

It's the 50th anniversary of Vertigo and North by Northwest turns 50 next year,so it's about time for Blu-Ray to turn it's attention to these amazing titles
throw in Rear Window, Trouble with Harry, Marnie, The Birds, and call it a set

I believe there are tentative plans for a 2009 release of North by Northwest. That's the only one I've seen. Vertigo should already be on Blu. Maybe the holdup is relating to the amount of cleanup work on the master prints? Vertigo was restored within the last 10 years, so that should be in good shape.

My guess is that Universal was planning on releasing several Hitchcock titles this Christmas for HD DVD but the sudden move to Blu-ray might preclude them from getting these releases out this year. If that does happen don't expect these until the second half of 2009.

I've got both Hitchcock collections on DVD, not sure if I'd upgrade them or not...

apparently Vertigo was preserved onto 70mm which means it should be just perfect for blu-ray, eh?

just watched "Dial M for Murder" on dvd.... turns out that movie was originally filmed in 3D

think there's any chance now that we'll get it released in 3d on blu-ray? or just 2d?
