i think i would rather just stick to a smaller sized laptop with a blu-ray drive. Easy to transport and if going somewhere on business theres your laptop to accompany your trip as well!

This product is the first portable OLED HDTV and is compatible with HDMI devices. Here it is: http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...52921665327724
I saw this at my local Sony Style store and fell in love with it that I'll marry it but its too expensive.

Good question and now you made me think I need one. When traveling\vacationing, I like to bring DVDs to watch in the hotel room. Now that the BD conversion has happened in my house, I'll probably need one unless they make a BD player for my laptop.

Dang, gotta go shopping again.

Sony will probably invent a portable size PS3 in the next year year or two. Add that to the OLED tv and waalllaaa you got yourself a portable blu-ray player/oled tv

thats a whole lot of money for something you want as a portable unit though. I mean even if you travel a lot, thats a lot to fork over.

I voted yes because if anyone has traveled with kids, they'll appreciate how useful they are. I assume this will wait until prices come down though...

Wink Portable blu-rays are available now -- Laptops

When portable DVD players first came out, the prices were several times more than the current market priices. No doubt the same pattern will be true when portable blu-rays hit the market.

Sony & HP and perhaps a few others have laptop computers with blu-ray drives. For increased portability, get a smaller laptop. Even the smallest laptops have screens bigger than the biggest portable (dvd) players

I voted yes as well, because of traveling long distances with kids it helps a lot to have a portable player. I don't really want to have a hot laptop sitting in my daughters lap for a long period of time. Also too at work, I can watch stuff while I'm working. This is usually when I get to check out all the extras on DVDs.

I also have kids and I like to keep them entertained on those long trips to the Beach or Orlando. In the meantime if I could find a reasonably priced Laptop with a Blu-Ray drive that would do.
