Sony Pictures announces new European Blu-ray titles

Following on from Buena Vista's Blu-ray title announcement, Sony Pictures has revealed its latest line-up of Blu-ray titles to arrive in Europe, many which will be dual-layer 50GB discs and arrive one week prior to the PS3's Euopean launch on March 23rd.

Titles being released are:

* All The King's Men (6 March)
* Kung Fu Hustle (19 March)
* 50 First Dates (19 March)
* XXX (19 March)
* Casino Royale (19 March)
* Layer Cake (19 March)
* Hellboy (19 March)
* Stranger Than Fiction (2 April)
* Big Fish (9 April)

Casino Royale will feature a collection of additional features in 1080p format and uncompressed audio.

Sony Pictures has already released a number of titles in Europe, including Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Black Hawk Down, Open Season, A Knight's Tale, and RV.

Sony is confident, based on US experience, that the launch of the PS3 will push Blu-ray forward as the high definition disc of choice for the majority of consumers. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen.
