Viggo Mortensen in the The Road - Blu-ray Forum

I love post apocalyptic stories. I'm really excited for this. can't wait for the trailer.

the book takes place in a burnt out American wasteland, not long after a nuclear winter has settled in. A father and his son, traveling with only the clothes they are wearing, a pistol for protection, and a cart of scavenged food, slowly make their way down a deserted road in an attempt to get to the coast. They don't know what they'll find there, but at this point, they've got nothing else but each other and the hope that they'll find something at the end that is keeping them alive.

Damn. looks really good. I always pictured the kid a little younger when i was reading it, but all in all i think it looks just how i pictured it.

Gonna have to add this one to the "watch" list. I really like Viggo, and lately he has been doing some great films....Add a "The Wire" alum and I think I can convince the "boss" to go see this one..

This looks good. I hope its as good as the book is though. That was an amazing read.

This movie was supposed to be released in November and now the Weinstein's have it as coming soon.

There was buzz that Viggo would be nominated for his roll here. I hate it when good movies get moved out like this. Rumor has it that they moved The Reader into December and they are moving this one to 2009. The reason is they don't have the marketing to push both for Oscars.

That's not the whole reason. THE ROAD just isn't ready. They weren't able to lock picture in time for the Nov 14th release date and they still haven't locked it. They're still finishing up some effects, the score, making tweaks here and there.

Great book, I am glad they got a good actor to play in this movie. I can not wait!!!

Thats really interesting to me, really like Viggo, and enjoyed Children of Men a lot which may or may not have anything to do with it, cept they both appear with a bleak outlook...

This was a phenomenal book. I enjoyed much more than the other two McCarthy novel's I've read (All the Pretty Horses and No Country for Old Men). I'm definitely looking forward to the movie.
