According to Sony of America's senior vice president Mike Fidler, products based on the Blu-ray Disc format are not likely to be available in the United States until 2005.

Most of the Blu-ray demonstrations at CES were being handled by people with very poor english and seemingly no idea of any US release dates.

Sometimes I wondered if they did that on purpose so that they didn't have to fully address release date questions.

In any case, the magic 2005 answer what what most gave. Far enough away that we won't notice if they miss schedule :?

Cheers!
