Yes - screen capture is disabled in PDVD for obvious reasons.
You need a program to copy the blu to your computer (CANT SAY THE NAME HERE). From there you can play the movie in Windows Media Player and capture from there as long as you turn OFF hardware acceleration. Otherwise you will end up with a black screen. You will need to make sure you are running full screen and the capture will only be as big as your desktop size. If your desktop is 1024x768, that's what you will get. You will not get full 1900x1080 resolution. In order to get that resolution, you need to be running 1920x1200 and resize your capture down to HD resolution. OR You can use Media Player Classic which has a built in screen capture utility which will capture at full 1080p resolution and at the correct size (no resize necessary). You can also choose which format to capture in. I don't see this as a problem being discussed as the site itself HAS to do something similar (if not the same) in order to get their screen shots. Perhaps the mods would like to take a look at the screen shots thread that is in operation since it violates this rule. Along with with the screen shots the site itself posts in it's reviews. I don't think blu-ray.com has permission to obtain their screen shots in the manner in which they are doing so. If they do have permission, it should be public domain and clearly accessible by ANYONE using this site. |

I got suspended for posting similar information.
The taking of screen shots is not against the rules. The thing is, how one achieves it. Currently, there is no "legal" or "within the rules" way to do so from a Blu-ray. ![]() They sure look good though! ![]() ![]() Expensive beer, huh? Last edited by dadkins; 08-11-2008 at 11:43 PM. |
