Recently (I think late summer of '06 or thereabouts), Disney launched a new "incentive program" for their home videos - Disney Movie Rewards. Simply enough, you redeem points from certain titles by entering a code you get from the insert of the DVD. Then you can use those points to get various knick-knacks and merchandise - it's your basic "arcade prize" principle.
![]() Surprisingly, it's been a promotional venue for Blu-ray, as well. Both "Instant Win Games" - where you just visit the site every day and click a link - have featured Blu-ray players as prizes. (This time around they're giving out Epson MovieMate projector/DVD/music player combos with screens, in addition to Blu-ray players... O_O). And when I visited today, I saw that their title list had been updated to include the Chicken Little and Cars Blu-rays, as well as both Pirates of the Caribbean BDs. Cool thing is, all BDs are "worth" 125 points, whereas the regular DVD editions are only 100. So what's the point of this thread? Nothing much - I just wanted to point out how nice it is to see BV so confident in Blu-ray. They're including it with silly little family-oriented points programs already. Schweeeet. ![]() |

I just signed up for Disney Movie Rewards. Apparently their DVD, Blu-Ray, and some other products will have points cards inside of them (looks like 125 points for each blu-ray). You can even send in theater ticket stubs for points. You can get rewards like posters, cds...a lot of little kid stuff, but there are a couple cool things on there for us older folks (...me being 22...so old).
If you're interested, check it out: http://disney.go.com/disneymovierewards/ Looks like I'm going to have around 850 points after that first week of November with all the Disney releases...so maybe I can get a free shirt or something. Just thought I'd let everyone know (if it hasn't been posted already that is) |

Keep an eye out, sometimes they will double the points for your movies if you buy them the first month or so they are released. Also, keep in mind that they will only let you enter points for a movie once, so if you have already entered a points code for say Cars, you cannot enter another one for Cars. I tried this once when I begged the points from my sister from her copy of the DVD. It doesn't work. You can get points for the movies too. Save your ticket stubs. I got points from Pirates and Ratatouille.

I belong to mycokerewards too. I have a bunch of points there. I know they were doing a Pirates promo earlier, but this is cool that it is paired with the Disney Movie Rewards. As a side note to the Disney thing. You can also get 50pts per movie ticket you send in, up to 200pts per movie. Just fill in the form on the site and mail the in. I did this for Pirates, Ratatouille and now Enchanted.
