Default How about a Blu-ray Disc magazine?

They have, or had, a DVD Magazine, how about an unofficial Blu-Ray Magazine that this site puts out, in newstands and/or digital release?

Wasn't that a quote from Ghostbusters ?

Anyways, a Bluray magazine seems like a good idea. A monthly magazine with the upcoming releases and reviews of the stuff that just came out, sure why not

There is a Blu-Ray magazine printed in the UK and distributed in Ireland.

I think the economics of a Blu-ray print magazine just wouldn't work right now in the United States. All magazines are fighting a losing battle right now with declining ad revenue as more and more people get their information on-line. On top of that the target demographic for Blu-ray owners is even more tech savvy than the average person and most likely would prefer a quicker digital version they could read on-line. I think an on-line journal or magazine could work though.

I was thinking the same thing, why isn't there a Blu Ray magazine? But would I really want one it would probably be a recap of thing we all know. Just because of websites that get updated daily what would they put in a magazine to make it worth a subscription fee?

Yup. By the time a news item or feature was written, published and delivered it would be yesterday's news. There is nothing a printed magazine could offer beyond the multitude of sites available free-of-charge on the internet.

Hi Bullseye, I too live in Ireland, and get DVD Monthly, DVD and Blu Ray Review monthly, I did see a new Blu ray magazine advertised in a past issue of Home Cinema choice supposed to be released in the end of June, so far no sign of it, whats the name of the blu ray magazine you're talking about ?

I worked in magazine publishing for over 20 years, and I can tell you that I've seen more upstart publications fail simply because they were too niche-oriented. Too bad in many ways as some were excellently produced and had a lot of financial backing (yes, you'll need at least a few million to get a magazine for national distribution off the ground).

Nice thought though!

What would make more sense would be a blu-ray magazine on Blu-Ray.
Much like "Short" on dvd (which didn't last that long) it could present short films in High Def, but to succeed (where Short did not) they could provide trailers for upcoming Blu-Ray films from the studios, and EPKs about the upcoming releases.

I would subscribe for the right price.
