Default Will Robin be in the next Batman?

I want to pose a question: Does anybody know if they are planning on including Robin in the next Batman? I personally have never cared for Robin. His presence seems to diminish the brooding mysteriousness of Batman. I have heard that he was invented to give younger readers of the comics someone to relate to; it was believed that kids had a hard time picturing themselves as Batman. Um...Hello?? I don't know about you, but I don't know any 5 y/o boy who ran around the house dressed as Robin. It was Batman for me, all the way!!

I would love to know how everyone else feels about the boy wonder.

not if they want christian bale to be batman...

"If Robin crops up in one of the new Batman films, I’ll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work - Christian Bale

http://www.slashfilm.com/2008/07/02/...-3-and-beyond/

so, probably not. the robin character, dick grayson, does not fit into nolan's batman mythos.

nolan said if one more person made a thread about the next batman on blu-ray.com he'd stop the series. good job, you just ruined it for all of us.

Robin is okay for the comic books (especially when the Joker beats him to a pulp with a crowbar), but I don't think that he would translate well into the beig screen; in any way, shape, or form.

I personally do not care for the character of robin. There is nothing at all that is interesting about this character other than being batmans "sidekick"

yes for robin. they need to bring robin to the big screen. and not any of that chris o'donnell big a** codpiece crap either. i'm sure robin is packin' some heat down under, but i'm quite sure chris o'donnell isn't. robin is chris griffin and chris o'donnell is peter.

i think he should be in it but they need to make the character darker like they did for batman in begins and the dark knight

i actually like robin as a character and think in some cases he can be more interesting that batman himself. i think jason todd is far more interesting than batman and i thought his robin was far more interesting than batman at the time. but i'll admit to not being the biggest batman fan (big surprise there). the comics are ok. the movies are even better. i think that if anyone could robin right it would be nolan. i wonder if bale doesn't want robin because he doesn't want to be upstaged.

If they include Robin in the next Batman, the only thing he'll be good for is laying eggs.

if Batman came out of the "batcave" aka closet....yeah, Id say Robin could work.....(heres hoping for an amibigously gay duo live action movie)

I believe Nolan wants 0 similarties to the other batman films....the reason why he killed Two-Face, so the Riddler does not share screen time with him.....no Catwomen or Penguin as Nolan has stated that he doesnt really want these two in his movies....and of course no RObin.....dont expect MR. Freeze or Poison Ivy anytime soon either

Thumbs down

Robin was fine for the 1966 movie and TV series. But we have come a long way since then. I think it would be a grim reality if they chose to bring Robin back. Grim..........Grim...........Grim !

We all know--or, better yet, most fanboys know--that Nolan is a big fan of the work that Moore and Miller have down with Batman. If I'm not mistaken, "Robin" was a girl in The Dark Knight Returns by Miller. Any chance that Nolan would redefine the role in that way?

Also, on a side note, I haven't seen anyone say this yet in any of the threads, but I would absolutely love it if the next Batman had Harley Quinn in it. I'd like to see her nut up on Batman for getting the best of her man!!

Nolan has stated that at the time of the current Batman movies Robin would be the age of a baby, and he has no intention of including him anytime soon. Read this a while back, can't remember where.

A 13 year old girl named Carrie Kelly who saved Batman's life. Batman is also 55 and has come out of retirement to fight crime again.
