Why not good music like Coltrane or Miles? I would love to listen to Things Fall Apart by The Roots over a PCM track.

I would even consider some Howlin' Wolf.

I'd love to see (actually hear) the Led Zeppelin self-titled 2-Disc DVD on Blu in PCM5.1, that'd be unbelievable. A little Alice in Chains would also be fantastic.

I could handle some Muddy Waters, Frank Sinatra, and Classical too..... Unfortunately it seems more likely that Britney Spears, Beyonce, or Snoop Dogg will have a release first (although Snoop is funny, despite not being my style)

R&B Films is planning to release very soon Soundstage performances of Tom Petty, Jewel, and Sheryl Crow on Blu-ray in full lossless audio. It is not Slayer of course but it is a start.

I'd pick up some Petty, he's got a bunch of good hits out there. But yeah, he's no Slayer or Maiden.

Yeah, I buy all I can in SACD. Given that most masters were stereo, do you think Blu would add anything over DSD?

I'm down for all that stuff, music to me after hearing the NIN blu is where there's some money to be made in the industry if marketed right....

Right with you, chief, I would enthusiastically drop some money on a Sabbath set, and my Slayer CDs would definitely benefit from the upgrade... also, I'd add Hypocrisy to that list. The production quality and sound mixing of his recordings is so good, and every time I upgrade my audio setup I hear more layers, and that's just off of CD wav's.
Who decides to put their stuff on blu is unpredictable. I remember the first wave of CD's, and the releases were all over the board, it had nothing to do with how popular a band was, but rather their enthusiasm for investing in and supporting the format. Still, going blu would be the smartest thing that bands and studios could do to offset the sweeping popularity of cheap (and often illegal) 128kb/s mp3 rips.

I would like Metallica S&M in Bluray! With uncompressed sound. Also Pink Floyd and Iron Maiden rock in rio in HD with uncompressed sound would be amazing.
