Default Back from the Game Convention in Leipzig

Sunday morning I was back from Leipzig to Brussels after having driven 1600 kilometers (1000 miles) round trip all I wanted was to sleep LOL.
Anyways except for the German highways panels being poorly done and a lot of roadworks throughout German highways, this trip was really great. So to sum it up I tried the following games at the GC:

- Sonic Unleashed
- Dead Space
- Project Origin
- Tomb Raider Underworld
- Silent Hill: Homecoming
- Mirror's edge
- GT5
- Kororinpa 2
- Aion: Tower of Eternity
- World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King
And a few other games of less interest to me ...

However I regretted the absence of the PS3 version of Bioshock, FF13, the Survival Horror "They" and "The Conduit" on the WII

Concerning Bioshock, 2K Games was present at the Convention and when I asked them why there was no Bioshock demo they said cause it was not ready yet, which I found strange considering the game is due for an October release so if they can't have a demo less than two months from the commercial release then something is wrong as other games with a much later release date were present at the GC.

So all in all it was a great day

all good and stuff but there is a lot they can do within a month. Besides why they should explain stuff to you? They chose not to give playable demo and that's that.

Does origin feels like FEAR?
and tell me more about Mirror's Edge.

They should explain for a very simple reason: I asked them and if they are there and chose to not talk to the attendants it would be kind of weird.
I saw the 2K Games exhibition stand and no Bioshock, so naturally I asked.

As for Project origin, sorry but I never played FEAR so I can't compare. All I can say is the part I played felt too much like a war FPS to my taste. Silent Hill Homecoming felt better (for my taste I mean)

Mirror's edge felt quite Fluid which is something I love in games and the jumping from building to building was fun.

I'll be getting origin for PC so I guess it doesn't matter anyway, it should play like a "war FPS", there story is awesome, though.
I was looking forward to SH but I don't know, the graphics are kind of meh, you saw it in action, how does it really look like? was it fun to play, mechanics? tell something more man... if you want to share than share.

I know there's a lot of jumping in Mirror. Is the jumping worth it? graphically looks nice, repetitive much? does it reward you somehow, upgrades? more more more I need more.

Sadly not. I was considering getting a digital cam before the trip, maybe a videocam that takes pics but my budget wouldn't allow it

Here was a game I was not expecting that much but pleasantly surprised me. In the part I played I entered a room activating a voice alarm warning me of dangerous creatures lurking free. Then with the tri-laser guide I began shooting this horrible creature that ended up jumping at me and killing me. Though in my defence I must say I was not used to the setting of the PS3 pad for that game

SH is good graphically speaking though I wish I could have had the sound (some games at the GC had headphones others not) so I was with picture only and a lot of background noise with all the people talking and stuff. It's really an exploration game as you lurk around dark corridors. I was lurking randomly as this was a demo and I was not playing from the beginning.

Mirror's edge is very fluid thus making it worth it. I just noted that you just go on and on so maybe it could be considered slightly repetitive but again this was a demo so no clear view of the whole picture ... I don't know about upgrades I did not have weapons in the part I played, just my fists and struggling with the pad to know which buttons makes you jump, and which makes you duck or turn around and so on ...

That's what Silent Hill is all about, you look for clues and fight and get scares s**tless. I hope it's good.

That would be hard cause I was there Saturday and I played many other games so I can't remember all about the controls of that one game. I just remember how the creature jumped at me and I was like: Damn what buttom am I supposed to push now ? LOL

Usually when I get a new game I take the time to get used to the controls but here I was in a crowd and playing a demo so when it was my turn I was presented with the playing right away and therefore had no real time getting used to the controls.

But I can tell you that if one gets to know the controls it felt like a great game and one that I plan to buy when it comes out

You mean "Bluray Games and PS3" ? I wanted to but This dear Bluray.com being strict as it is, and this thread not specifically speaking of Blurays or the PS3 but New Games in general at a Games Convention, I thought it would be moved off to ... the offtopic section LOL

Anyways if Mods feel like this belongs in Bluray Games and PS3 by all means please move it there
