Loved this movie, glad its coming to Blu, hopefully in North America soon as well...

I really think Roger Ebert dropped the ball on this review... I think he needs to watch it again and get a better understanding of the wifes character. If you have seen it you probably know what I'm talking about.

This movie is an emotional roller coaster. I sat and watched this on my own one night and the thoughts that got going through my head were incredible.

A movie had never and has never made me feel the way this one did.

just heard back from freemantle

restoration is taking place and we will see the blu-ray if all go,s to plan alongside the new theatrical version when it hits cinemas

also they mention straw dogs in the world at war article in dvd and blu-ray world magazine

After several previous announcements that have come to nothing, I'll believe this only when I'm actually holding the disc.

BTW, do you know whether they have made any statement about 'Cabaret'? That's another title that they have repeatedly announced for various release dates but has never appeared.

he stated in the email to me they have no current plans for cabaret

might have to wait on warner for that one

just straw dogs is being fully restored

when I heard about the remake I figured this is exactly what would be happening.
I'm the same as everyone else;
I'll believe it when I put it in my player.
after Freemantle's documentary debacle I don't know if I can take them seriously.
we'll see I guess.

do you live in the uk ?

if so you should pick up the current issue of dvd and blu-ray world they talk about the restoration of world at war and also breifly mention there restoration of straw dogs

like i said next year ( as long as all go,s to plan )
then again they have messed us around a lot

ad far as living in the UK, nope I live in the South.

It was spotted a long time ago that 10/10/10 happens to be a Sunday - which is a somewhat unusual day for releasing Blu-rays.

It's obviously just a "dummy" placeholder date because they have absolutely no idea if or when they will ever release it. Fremantle Video have been jerking us around with this title and 'Cabaret' for a few years now.

The release is scheduled for 2011, the exact date is TBC. We must apologise for the inaccurate information on Amazon, we've asked them to update their records asap.
