Cher as Catwoman?

I was listening to a usually reliable talk show in Dallas yesterday who reported that Nolan wants to cast Cher as Catwoman. I have no idea how true this may or may not be, they went on to say he would like to cast Johnny Depp as the Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as the Penguin, though it wasn't clear which of the 3 would be in the next film.
It's obviously an intriguing choice, I gotta say I like the direction. I can't think of any young actress in Hollywood who makes me say "Wow, she could be Catwoman and be good." This could turn Catwoman into a character we haven't seen before and flip the traditional role on its head.

If that were to be true, why don't they just save a couple of bucks and get someone like Rossane Barr or Rosie O'donnel. Why were at it lets have Carrot Top play the Penguin and Andy Dick play the Riddler!

yes please stop. obviously im pretty sure nolan hasnt begun casting yet because, p.s. THEY HAVENT EVEN WRITTEN THE SCRIPT YET!
Im sure we'll find out sooner or later. I mean TDK is still in theatres and people actually think that nolan has the 3rd one coming so quick. I believe he is still in talks if he should even do another one. give it a rest people.

My thoughts exactly. When ever Nolan starts to ponder a 3rd Batman, mopst of us hope he will soon, he will probably choose someone who none of us would even suggest for the roles of his charactres. I agree, i would have said Heath Ledger is a terrible choice for the Joker, that is, until i saw TDK and saw his excellence performance. Nolan does a great job casting, and he does not always select the "Obivious" choice for his characters.

agreed. even worse is this whole cher thing. it's getting out of hand. that rumor is almost as old she is. she was going to be catwoman in the burton movies. and we all know how that turned out. this rumor is nothing more than that. rumor. and a lousy one at that. to drag up a 20 year old rumor and make it seem relevant is lazy journalism. what they are paying these hacks for? really?

Let me second or third that... FRICKIN' STOP THE RUMOR MONGERING ALREADY. The Dark Knight is still in the frickin' theatre. You won't see any casting announcements for at the very least a year or two and maybe even three.
But at least this thread has an awesome pic of Monica to justify its existence.
