Default Discovering movie goofs in HD

Now that we are re-watching movies we loved in HD. Did you ever find really bad goofs that you can now catch in HD?
Confused yet?
Let me give you an example:
Halloween (1978) Remember the scene when Michael escapes from the hospital? That nurse chick is alone in the car and Michael's hand smashes the drivers side window. You can clearly see a wrench taped to his hand (added strengh to smash the fake glass, I guess). I always knew of this wrench but it was quite a shock to see it that clearly. Cause ya can't really catch stuff like that with VHS.

I don't have Halloween on blu yet, but i will check that out. Sounds interesting.
The only thing i could say, is maybe they meant it to be seen that way. Maybe Michael was more concerned with bodily harm than we thought.

Not a goof, but i just got Nightmare Before Christmas on BD and have noticed about five hundred things i've never seen before. She is amazing, this bluray.

Watching Master and Commander yesterday and noticed that when Lucky Jack was giving his sextant lesson, Midshipman Blakeney had both
[Show spoiler] of his arms intact
. This scene occured after the
[Show spoiler] amputation
.

I'm seeing a lot in older movies. First Blood:Part II had several.

Not a goof but,
Enter the Dragon.
Ever since I saw it for the first time in the mid 70's, I always thought that his "human fly" outfit was black. It's actually blu (no pun intended).

I watched Poltergeist (up-convert) last night and remembering that I was always fascinated by the chairs appearing on the breakfast table. I kinda new how it was done. Basically when the camera pans away you would have several guys put a bunch of pre-glued chair on the table.
Well sure enough, if you look into the toaster on the kitchen counter, you can see a bunch of guys put the prop on the table. LOL.

Also check out the plant in the corner. It moves when the camera pans into the kitchen area. You can totally tell a prop guy ducked back under there before the camera pans back.

Perfect example!
I finally noticed (after how many years?) that when the liquid terminator is flying the Helicopter, he's using a third arm.

Uh-oh.
Here come the third arm jokes.

Pearl Harbor. In the scene with Cuba Gooding Jr carrying a tray of food during the attack after an explosion, you can see one of the film crew following him on the left of the screen!

I noticed that the first time I watched the DVD (or was it VHS?) umpteen years ago. I couldn't believe how obvious it was!

That can be explained away though as he can morph into any shape he wants... so why not have a third arm to make flying the helicopter easier!

I'd love to see Braveheart on Blu... so I can watch ancient scotsmen in kilts... some with sneakers and watches... charge the enemy in HD. Also, LotR, so I can see the car drive over the hill in the background. lol

So when the Wizard of Oz comes to blu are we finally going to see the much hyped "suicide hanging" in the forest of the cowardly lion?

In Fellowship, when they're hiding from the wraith in the cor field, there's a long shot, and in the distance there's a car going over a hill.

I don't know but they'll have edited out the wires from the flying monkeys so you won't be able to see it how it was in the original cinema release.

And didn't they digitally edit out the bit where you could tell that there was a glass sheet in the snake scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark, even though it was originally not like that in the original release.

Similar stuff with them altering things in Star Wars, ET so they're different from the original release so you're less likely to see stuff like that that you didn't see in the original DVD. Especially if they add lots of DNR or other enhancements.

That third arm was guide big and very hard in the cockpit. *ahem*

And I noticed this back when I had the Silver Case T2 Limited Edition LASERDISC! CAV rules back then. I think Cameron's commentary made me look at that scene in slo-mo.

That has been erased. It existed in the first release prints of FOTR. But it was THE ONLY SHOT that had the gaffe where everyone pointed out the car crossing the field in the distance. Needless to say, for that second we were no longer in Middle Earth. When FOTR Extended Cut was released both on DVD and theatrically, the car was no longer in sight. I saw it both on DVD and in the theaters.

Speed has a gaffe where you can see the wires pulling the bus as it heads to collide with the plane.

The Rock had wires pulling the tram UP for the explosion. They didn't have the budget to remove it but they also didn't do the flame right. But I did catch an instance where the tram slammed into a stationary camera rig.

In Live Free or Die Hard, after the gas refinery has exploded, the Mac commercial guy is yelling at Bruce Willis and you can tell that the dialogue has been re-recorded. This is not unusual, I know, but the words don't even come close to matching his lips. It's as if they changed his lines after the shoot.

Also, in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, before the 3rd task, Cedric's dad hugs him and says something like, "My boy." In the blu-ray you can tell his lips aren't moving. That's awfully distracting.
