yup got the red ring of death

My first xbox lasted 1 month , disc drive broke

second last 5- Disc drive froze games, then over heated

Thrid one - Red ring of Death(5 months)

wonder what well kill the 4th hahahaa

I'm no fan of the Xbox but how do you guys manage to break them down so many times around ? do you kick them or put weight on them or any other type of abuse ?

Yeah, I thought the elites were made after the known problems with the launch (and beyond) units were fixed? I feel for ya. I'm on my 3rd replacement system since launch. I've had this one for a year-and-a-half now, but my fingers are still crossed.

I just had my first one die on me. It's actually my second X360 (my actual first one was stollen from my house and was 18 months old). I just sent my current X360 in for repair last week. It was 14 months old.

First things first. You need to learn that "will" and "well" are two completely different words and mean two completely different things. I had the RROD on my Elite after about 2 months. Then, I shut it off after 20-30sec of my heart racing and stomach hitting the floor several times. Turned it back on just a minute later and have never had a problem since then.

those lights don't always mean that the xbox is toast. it used to happen to mine in the winter when my room got really cold. i just turned it off then on again and it started up fine. or maybe dust got in it and it overheated, who knows.

The 3 red lights doesn't always mean that the console is dead. It could also mean that you 360 is in a funky state (ala the blue screen your pc could get). It happened to me once on my elite. I turned it offf and turned it back on and it was fine. It's never had a problem since.

That's terrible. Sorry to hear about that. And the third time, no less. I have been on the fence about buying a 360 since the console launched. But everytime I am close to pulling the trigger, I hear about another RROD incident. I was hoping that this was a thing of the past with the newer Elite model, but your pic is speaking a thousand words.
