Ehhh.. yeah, the original cover is better. It's not too bad though. Seen some DVD re-issues over the years which looked worse.
I for one will be getting this gem asap

The only thing that seems off is that red cracked glass background. I can't say I cared much for the last cover either... wish they would just use the original poster artwork.

I like how Kim looks on the cover and the Title font is nice... that background with everyone else seems odd.

I like both of them, so it doesn't matter to me.

I care more about the PQ/AQ than the cover art.

While this different L.A. Confidential cover art at Amazon.com isn't exactly great, I wasn't all that thrilled with the previous cover either. It looks like someone did some strange Photoshop alterations on Kim Basinger's breasts (shrank them a bit, moved them up and to the left so portions of both would be visible). The proportions just don't look right. Probably something for Photoshop Disasters.

If I had been contracted to develop the cover art, I would have made it look a bit like a page pulled out of Sid Hudgins' on the Q. T. and very hush hush tabloid newspaper.

Apparently the Blu-Ray version is getting a alternate cover than the DVD.



I like the idea of Blu-Rays having different cover art than the standard versions.

I like the idea of the Blu covers being different too. That being said, I also think they should be better than the DVD version and this is not. The previousely released cover art is much better.

I'm very disappointed

I'm with you on that one. A lot of the Blu-ray covers look like rejected movie posters. Out of anything I'd like them to just use the theatrical poster art.

I think the idea is good, it shows an actual difference between the two versions.
