Another Receiver noob... 3 questions

1. I own the Sony S350

I don't know what any of the means, but I need a receiver to decode dts-ma right? Can anyone point me in the direction of a good receiver for less than $500? I'll be buying 2 tower speakers and a sub.

2. I heard that the Onkyo 606 can ruin picture quality a little bit. This makes me scared to pick just any receiver, not knowing if it will ruin my PQ. This isn't a question, I just thought I'd confirm what I was saying as correct.

3. Is there a good site that can teach a noob like myself all about this HD audio stuff?
