Default Amazon Raising Prices - AGAIN

Look at this PRICE INCREASE I found in my Amazon shopping cart:

Important Messages
Please note that the price of Hancock [Blu-ray] has increased from $26.95 to $28.95 since you placed it in your Shopping Cart. Items in your cart will always reflect the most recent price displayed on their product detail pages.

Please note that the price of Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World [Blu-ray] has increased from $23.95 to $27.95 since you placed it in your Shopping Cart. Items in your cart will always reflect the most recent price displayed on their product detail.

WHAT A RIP OFF!

I've been pretty disappointed with Amazon lately. Anymore it's just as well to go buy them at a B&M. Family Video and Tower seem to be beating Amazon fairly consistently for online pricing.

MAC:TFSOTW is part of Amazon's B2GO sale going on, and Amazon ALWAYS raises their prices on these films when they do one of these sales.

As for "Hancock", it will probably continue to fluctuate from here through November.

The it isn't really a sale if they jack up the price. It seems like a deceptive way of doing business.

When browsing Amazon, I have three words for you: third party sellers.

Right now you can get Master and Commander in new condition for $23.23 including shipping. That's $0.72 less than the original price getting it directly from Amazon.

THREE movies at $27.95 x 3 = $83.85
THREE movies at $27.95 x 3 - $27.95 = $55.90
THREE movies at $55.90 divided by 3 = $18.64

Cheaper than that $23.95 it was before, now ain't it?

Sure, but it doesn't mean Amazon isn't being disingenuous by raising their price by $4 per disc during the sale. The total savings is skewed because they're listing the price for a higher amount than it is every other day.

Well, Amazon isn't the only store to do this. Most stores reset the prices on items during BOGOs. At least that's what I've noticed...

Were these just 'in your cart' or did you actually preorder and then checkout?

They had to be in the cart. Amazon will not raise the price if you actually pre-ordered.

I'm sure it will be $25-$30 at Best Buy. Screw it, I'll pay the extra $2-$3 and get the reward zone points. Amazon had better get their act together.
