Default PS3 24hz / 120hz

Ok i have sifted through as much info as I can stand at this point so im starting a new thread. Does anyone know if having the 24hz option selected to "on" in the PS3 settings effects my TV which can do the 120hz?

I have read that the PS3 setting should be set to off to get full use of my tv's 120hz setting.

Thoughts,input???

i beleive that your tv will just run that 24hz singal 5 times every seccond to equal 120hz, if you play a 30hz signal it runs the signal four times a seccond, and at 60hz, twice
atleast thats how i understand it, bottom line set ur ps3 to 24hz

You want the 24fps setting set to ON or AUTO for your set. This is the way the material is encoded and the way it should be sent to any set that can accept the signal.

You then can adjust the settings on your TV to either repeat eash frame 5 times to properly display the film without judder created by the 3:2 pulldown process, or, if you like the look, you can enable MotionFlow, where the set "makes up" frames between the actual frames to create smoother motion. I hate that effect, as film no longer looks like film, but other's love it. Either way, though, set the PS3 to output 24fps.
