I've been loving my PS3, but lately I've noticed a number of my movies have red "noise" (outlines?) around some darker images. This definitely doesn't happen all the time, but I've noticed it a few times in the last three movies I watched (Gone Baby Gone, Goodfellas, The Assassination of Jesse James). It usually happens when the image in the foreground is dark and moving.
I'm assuming this has nothing to do with my TV, as my HD programming never does this. I double checked my HDMI cable, and it looks secure (and I don't notice this issue in any of my HiDef games). Has anyone else encountered this? Could this be the way the movies themselves were compressed? Am I missing a setting on my PS3? (I'm a newbie and only semi-techy, so forgive if my question is naive or posted in the wrong place.) |
