Default Installed some Aura Bass Shakers - HOLY COW

WOWEEEEEE!!!

I got a pair of the cheap older ones - 25 watts RMS each. Hooked em up to an old Kenwood receiver I had from '97. Mounted under the middle of sofa - one up front, one towards the back.

Put on Transformers BD and Jurassic Park DVD and oh boy do they pound! These things GREATLY complement the cheapo 8" sub that's behind my couch.

So the lesson here is - if you want bumpin' bass on a cheap budget get a cheapie sub, throwaway receiver, and a pair of Bass Shakers for under your ass /back and you're ready to go. Doesn't bother the neighbors either!

I was thinking about the bass shakers to mount into the frame of my sofa. But I really don't want a crappy receiver on my audio stand. Is there any other way to hook them up that's more discrete?

Have them in my couch for years. Love them ever since! Gotta have the right set up to run them safe. You wouldnt want to put these on your speaker B selector running with your 5.1,6.1 or 7.1 system. These need a seperate amplifier.

Parts express.com sells an inexpensive amp that will push the shakers it can be hidden pretty well. I believe there is a diagram for hook-up on av forum under bass shakers. They are pretty awesome/fun !!!
