Chatting with friends about comics and film, I often think about how some of the best action stories are starring ppl who fight crimes and avert disasters, all by mostly-realistic human means. I like superpowers and fantasy stuff and all, but there's something about the all-human hero. Common qualities: healthy, very athletic, highly trained in martial arts and gymnastics, many tools and weapons. Some of the great ones are:
Bruce Wayne/Batman, Robin (Multiple), Solid Snake, Big Boss, The Boss, John McClane, Frank Castle/The Punisher, Green Arrow, Speedy/Roy Harper, Nick Fury, Lara Croft, Chuck Norris*, Mr. T**, Beatrix Kiddo, King Leonidas, Han Solo, James Bond *unless you count his godlike abilities in pop culture **unless you count his superstrength and invincibility in all the Mr. T vs ??? comics Feel free to discuss favorites or add to the list. Rules are the characters cannot use super-powers, magic, or other similar abilities. |
